AI Overload, Security Risks & Practical Tips

I've stopped relying on ChatGPT for work and school because the flood of AI‑generated content in 2025 makes it hard to trust what’s genuine. While AI brings many benefits, it also produces endless text, code, and messages that can blur the line between real and synthetic.

In this issue I share a reminder to depend on your own thinking, plus the latest security stories that illustrate why staying vigilant matters. Read on for insights on Signal decryption, data breaches, and a quick tip to protect your WhatsApp messages.

Why I don't use ChatGPT anymore

Or at least not for work and school. 2025 has been the year of AI and with all the good came all the bad. We've seen an overflow of AI generated content, messages, code etc.

A blog post from last year reminded me that I can only count on my own brain power.

What caught my eye this week

Decrypting Signal Messages

A research paper showed how to decrypt messages from desktop Signal on Windows machines.

Pornhub Premium Users Threatened

A cyber gang called "ShinyHunters" seem to have got data of Pornhub Premium users which now they want money in order to not make this data public.

Use a VPN they said..

Do not trust chrome extensions, not even those featured from Google. 8M users just got their AI chats wiped and sold.

Tip of the Week

If you use WhatsApp, then go to the settings and block messages from unknown users.

A research group found a vulnerability which leaks privacy concerning data of WhatsApp and Signal accounts.

Forward this to a friend who cares about online security.
